Man shot in the face in Englewood

A man was shot in the face in the Englewood neighborhood early Saturday on the South Side.

 The 18-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk with a group of males in the 2000 block of West 68th Street when a dark-colored vehicle drove pass about 12:35 a.m. and somebody inside opened fire at the group.

 The man was shot in the face.

Boy, 17, injured in West Englewood shooting

A 17-year-old boy was shot in a late Tuesday shooting in theWest Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
Chicago police said the teen told officers that he was walking in the 6500 block of South Wood Street at about 9:15 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt a sudden pain in his back.

25 year old shot in West Englewood neighborhood

A man was shot this evening in the city's West Englewood neighborhood on the city's South Side.
The 25-year-old man was struck in the back in the 6800 block of South Wood Street at about 9:20 p.m.
The man is listed in critical condition.

2 killed in separate South Side shootings

Two men were shot to death late Thursday night in separate incidents on the South Side, police said.
At 10:22 p.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood, a 30-year-old man was standing on the 6600 block of South Seeley Avenue when his attacker approached him and opened fire, according to police.
The assailant then sped away east on Marquette in a gray four-door car, police said.
The man who was killed was identified as Walter Brown, of the 6500 block of South Hoyne, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

About an hour after that shooting, at 11:25 p.m. in the Englewood neighborhood, a 24-year-old man was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds in the 5700 block of South Emerald Avenue.
He was identified as Gartania Prince, of the 6100 block of South Wabash, a medical examiner's spokeswoman said. He was dead on the scene.
No other information was immediately available.
No one was in custody for either shooting, and Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.

Teen found shot on Southwest Side

An 18-year-old man was found seriously wounded after being shot in the back in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood midday today, but has refused to tell police where the shooting took place, authorities said.

The man was found in the 6700 block of South Damen Avenue, wounded from a shooting, a little after noon, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious-to-critical condition, said Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The teen was shot twice in the back by someone firing from a car, authorities said.

No shell casings or other evidence were found that would indicate the man was shot near where Fire Department paramedics found him, police said. The man was not being cooperative, and would not tell police where the shooting took place.

Man killed in fight over talking to women

A 21-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday in the West Englewood neighborhood, police said.
The man, later identified as Shawn Carter, of the 6400 block of South Hoyne Avenue, was walking down the street about 8:30 p.m. near his home when he came upon two women and called out to them, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said. As he was talking to them, two men approached him and told him to leave the women alone, sparking an altercation.
During the dispute, Carter was shot in shot in the chest and back, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, a medical examiner's spokeswoman said.
No one was in custody and Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

Man shot at his birthday party

Three men were shot and wounded at separate parties around the city overnight, including a man shot at his own birthday party.
At 1:24 a.m. in West Englewood, a 35-year-old and 42-year-old were shot at a party in the 6300 block of South Seeley Avenue, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The 35-year-old who was celebrating his birthday was shot in the lower back and taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
The 42-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh and drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
About 2:15 a.m. in Englewood, a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times at a party in the 7100 block of South Halsted Street, police said.
He and another person drove until they encountered police in the 3100 block of South Halsted Street, police said. The two claimed they were looking for police, but it was not immediately known why they drove so far from the original scene, passing multiple police stations and hospitals along the way.
The 22-year-old was listed in good condition at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.
No one was in custody for either shooting and Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

Teen girl shot in face on South Side

A 17-year-old girl was shot in the face but remained in fair condition late Friday, police said.
About 9:50 p.m. in West Englewood, the teen was standing on the sidewalk near the intersection of South Wood and West 64th streets when shots were fired and she was struck in the face, according to police New Affairs Officer Hecotr Alfaro.
No one else was injured and no other details were immediately available, Alfaro said.
The girl was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where she was listed in fair condition.
