Charges have been filed against a Far South Side man accused of a fall 2011 sexual assault.
Dwayne Towns, 51, of the 12200 block of South Morgan Street, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm and kidnapping with a firearm.
The attack occurred Sept. 4, 2011, in the 12200 block of South Sangamon Street and Towns was identified as the suspect through DNA evidence and a physical lineup.

1 killed, 1 injured in West Pullman shooting
A 19-year-old woman was killed and a 23-year-old man was injured in a shooting this afternoon in the West Pullman neighborhood.
The shooting was reported at 12:37 p.m. on the 11700 block of South Eggleston Avenue on the Far South Side.
A 19-year-old woman was shot in the head and taken to Roseland Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
She was identified as Natasha Green of the 11700 block of South Normal Avenue,. She was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m.
Green and the man were walking westbound when a gray car also driving westbound pulled up and someone from inside began shooting before fleeing.
The man was treated and released for his injury.

35-year-old man shot during robbery
A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg, wrist, thigh and abdomen about 12:10 a.m. Monday in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side. He was in a car in the 12200 block of South Aberdeen Street when shot and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Police said he was shot trying to flee a robbery. It's not clear if man's shooter got anything.

48-year-old man shot on the Mag Mile
The 48-year-old man was in his vehicle when he was shot in the back in the
100 block of East Superior Street about 11 p.m.The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition had stabilized
Police said the Frisco, Texas man, a guest in a hotel in the 200 block East Walton Street, told officers he was driving a rented 2014 Jeep Patriot at Superior Street and Michigan Avenue when he heard his driver’s side rear window shatter. At first, he thought someone knocked out his window and he fled, going northbound on Michigan Avenue.
The hotel valet parked the vehicle and once he got into his room, he found his t-shirt was “wet and full of blood’’ and realized he was shot on the left side of his chest and his left rear shoulder. He notified the front desk clerk and police and an ambulance came to the hotel.

Police found a man in his 20s dead on a Far South Side parkway early Thursday
morning .

Man held without bail in West Pullman shooting over cell phone
West Pullman man has been charged with attempted murder after he shot a man over
a dispute involving a cell phone.
Letroy Fields, 34, is accused of shooting a 30-year-old man on a front porch in the 11600 block of South Harvard Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Fields was ordered held without bail after he appeared in court this afternoon.
The shooting happened after a party as the two argued over a phone. The victim remained in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Officials said Fields and the victim had a similar phone and that Fields may have thought the victim took his phone.
Authorities said Fields, of the 12000 block of South Wentworth Avenue, and the victim may have known each other.
When Fields was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, he was treated for a graze wound to the ankle, police said. It was not clear whether the wound was self-inflicted.
According to a police report, Fields told police that he had been shot but when police noticed an ulceration on his leg and took him to a local hospital he refused medical treatment.

14-year-old boy in the arm as he stood on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of East

A 16-year-old boy was shot about 4 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Ridgeway

2 men shot in West Pullman
A 30-year-old man was critically hurt when someone opened fire during a dispute
involving a cell phone early this morning in the Far South Side's West Pullman
neighborhood.
About 1:30 a.m., someone opened fire on a porch in the 11600 block of South Harvard Avenue, striking the man multiple times.
A witness told police at the scene he heard about seven or eight shots.
Shortly after the shooting, which happened on the east side of a southbound one-way street, police took a 34-year-old man into custody as a possible suspect. The shooting happened after a party during a dispute about the 34-year-old's phone.
Police said the shooter and the man shot may have known each other.
The 30-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition.
The 34-year-old man taken into custody was treated for a graze wound to the ankle. It was not immediately clear whether the wound was self-inflicted or whether someone else fired the shot.
The 34-year-old, who was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in custody, has not been charged.

A 31-year-old man was shot while driving his vehicle in the Pilsen neighborhood,
police said.

A South Side shooting left one man wounded. He was dropped off at Metro South
Medical Center by his mother after he was shot about 11:20 p.m. Police said he
was shot near 117th and Eggleston streets in the West Pullman neighborhood.

The shooter fled in a white car, and the 41-year-old was taken to Northwestern
Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Police said the shooting happened during
an argument over a parking space.

Man found fatally shot in West Pullman
A 56-year-old man died this morning after he was found shot in the head at his
home, police said.
Police were called to the 12200 block of South Aberdeen Street at a 7:41 a.m.
When police arrived at the home, police found that the man had sustained a gunshot wound to his head.
The man died from his injuries and police have launched a homicide investigation. .
Preliminary information indicated that the man may have been shot as a result of a drug debt.
The man had been previously shot in front of his home on June 22 but survived. The man was found with a gunshot wound to his side at about 4:45 a.m. after he was involved in an argument with another person.

17-year-old boy and 18-year-old man shot in Little Village
A 17-year-old boy walked up to an 18-year-old man with a shotgun Friday night in
the Little Village neighborhood, pointed the weapon toward his face and squeezed
the trigger.
Within minutes, someone else who had seen the shooting shot the 17-year-old in the head and both young men shot are in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police said the two were found lying near each other in the 2600 block of South Ridgeway Avenue about 10:10 p.m. Both identify with conflicting gangs and were shot on a street painted with graffiti from those gangs, which use Ridgeway as a border.

At about 2:10 a.m. a 36-year-old man was shot in the 200 block of West 94th Street
in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the South Side. He was shot multiple times

46 year old man shot in Humboldt Park
A man, 46, was shot about 2:09 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Kildare
Avenue in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. He was taken to Mount Sinai
Hospital, Gaines said. The man, who suffered a wound to his right forearm and a
graze wound to his buttocks, told police he had been shot in a crossfire while
sitting in a car. He then tried to drive away from the scene in the car, but it
ran out of gas at Division Street and Karlov Avenue and he called police.

At about 4:15 a.m. Sunday, a 26-year-old man showed up at Norwegian-American Hospital for
treatment of a gunshot wound to his right thigh which he said happened in the

custody for the shooting and the 26-year-old was not cooperating with
detectives.

15-year-old girl, 16-year-old boy and man shot in Park Manor
A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were shot as they left a basketball game
around 11:30 p.m. just east of Martin Luther King Drive in the Park Manor
neighborhood. A 49-year-old man was also
shot.The 16-year-old was in critical condition with a chest wound at Stroger Hospital and the 15-year-old was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, suffering from a leg wound. The man walked into the University of Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin and also in good condition.
The three were shot by at least one gunman who fired from a nearby alley.

27-year-old man shot in South Chicago
Around 9:25 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the 8500 block of South Oglesby
Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood. He was in critical condition at
Northwestern Memorial Hospital with wounds to the neck and chest
52-year-old man shot in west Pullman
A 52-year-old man was wounded around 1:20 a.m. Thursday in the West Pullman
neighborhood. The man was shot in the 11500 block of South State Street and
taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition with a wound to the
leg.
21 year old man shot in West Pullman
A man was shot and critically wounded in the West Pullman neighborhood, but
apparently was driven by private car to a hospital instead of taken via
ambulance.
The man, 21, walked into Roseland Hospital about 9:25 a.m., after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Police had to check the area for a crime scene, determining that the man likely was shot about 9:15 a.m. near 115th Street and Wentworth Avenue
2 people shot in Brainerd
Two people were wounded this afternoon in a shooting on the South Side in the
city's Brainerd neighborhood.The shooting happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the 9000 block of South Marshfield Avenue.
A male victim was shot in the buttocks and a woman, 34, was shot in the leg and buttocks
Man shot in West Pullman
At about 10:40 p.m. a man was shot in the 12600 block of South Eggleston Avenue in
the West Pullman neighborhood. He was shot in the abdomen and taken to Advocate Christ Medical
Center.
Man shot in Belmont Cragin
Someone shot a man in the face in the 1700 block of North Linder Avenue. He was
taken to Loyola University Medical Center
18 and 19 year old men shot in West Pullman
About 12:05 a.m., two teens were shot in the 12200 block of South Halsted Street
in the West Pullman neighborhood. A 19-year-old man shot in the
head was left in critical condition and another, 18, was shot in the right arm
and taken to Metro South Medical Center
18-year-old man shot in canaryville
Someone shot a 18-year-old in the leg and back in the Canaryville neighborhood
about 11:30 p.m. The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook
County from the 4300 block of South Union Avenue.
16-year-old girl shot in Rosemoor
In the Rosemoor neighborhood about 10 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was shot in the
leg in the 10100 block of South Prairie Avenue. She was outside with friends
when someone across the street fired a gun toward her group
19-year-old man shot in Lawndale
19-year-old man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the
chest about 9:30 p.m. He had been shot in the 2600 block of West 21st Place and dropped
off at the hospital by a friend. He was in a group when he heard shots and felt
pain
15-year-old boy, 22-year-old man shot in Englewood
Two people were shot in Englewood about 9:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of west 73rd
Street. A 15-year-old boy was hit in the leg and taken to Advocate Christ
Medical Center and a 22-year-old was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital with a wound to his buttocks. Police say they were on a porch
when someone opened fire from a passing green car.
2 men shot in Calumet Heights
A shooting in the Calumet Heights neighborhood about 7:15 p.m. left two men
wounded. The pair walked into Mercy Hospital & Medical Center - a
25-year-old with a wound to the wrist and a 35-year-old with a wound to the
shoulder. Both are in good condition.
23-year-old man shot in Marquette Park
About 3:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with a
gunshot wound to the wrist. He had been shot in the 7100 block of
South Kedzie Avenue.
30-year-old man shot in the leg
About 3:07 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 5900 block of
South Spaulding Avenue. He was stabilized at a local hospital
16 year old girl and man shot in Austin
Two people were shot in the South Austin neighborhood about 11:05 p.m. in the
4800 block of West Walton Street. They were shot near the corner of Cicero
Avenue and Walton Street and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in good
condition. A 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg and taken in an ambulance and
a 21-year-old man showed up at the same hospital with a leg wound

Man charged in West Pullman murder
A South Side man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man in late May in the West Pullman neighborhood. Roman Forman, 25, of the 4800 block of South Evans Avenue in the Bronzeville neighborhood, has been charged with first-degree murder in the May 29 shooting death of Freddie Walton, 27, in the 12200 block of South Halsted Avenue on the Far South Side.
Forman, who was arrested Friday, was ordered held with no bail in bond court Sunday.
Walton was walking into a store about 1 p.m. when a vehicle containing two individuals pulled up and someone started shooting. Walton was struck in the neck and shoulders, Sullivan said, and later died at Roseland Hospital.
