The cousin of man stabbed to death with a pair of scissors who said they were
“play wrestling’’ when it happened early Wednesday on the Northwest Side has
been charged with his murder.
Erik Jensen, 45, of the 100 block of West Willow Road, has been charged with
murder.
Jensen is expected to appear in court Friday after fatally stabbing the
43-year-old man to death during a domestic incident in the Union Ridge
neighborhood.
Jensen told officers on the scene that they were “play wrestling’’ when Ogara
placed him in a headlock about 1:20 a.m. at the home in the 5400 block of North
Natoma Avenue.
Jensen said that he “got the best” of Ogara and told police the next thing he
remembered was seeing someone lying on the living room floor, bleeding.
Jensen called 911 and officers found Ogara, in the front room, and a pair of
scissors near his body
At a bond hearing today, prosecutors said that Jensen and his cousin had been
drinking on the 5400 block of North Natoma Avenue in the Union Ridge
neighborhood at about 2 a.m.
As they two were drinking, an argument broke
out over a broken Marvel Comics collector glass.
"The defendant stated
that he and the victim were drinking alcohol from Marvel Comic collector glasses
that the victim dropped his glass and it shattered," prosecutors
said.
After the glass broke, the two had a verbal argument that then
became physical, prosecutors said.
