Parolee accused of shooting man in Wrigleyville robbery

A parolee shot another man in the back across the street from Wrigley Field when the man tried to interfere with a robbery.
Marcus E. Harris, 26, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street, is charged with aggravated battery, obstructing identification and attempted armed robbery.
His face tattooed with a White Sox logo, a tear and other designs.
Harris, the victim and another man were outside a club on Clark Street in Wrigleyville around 3:20 a.m. Sunday when Harris went up to the victim and said, “What’s up, I know you got some bread.”
The 25-year-old victim told police he was walking down the street a short time later and saw Harris try to rob the third man. The victim yelled to Harris, “What are you doing?”.
Harris replied, “Mind your own business” and fired at the victim, hitting him in the back.
The victim was able to walk into a nearby business for help. He underwent surgery at a hospital and was recuperating Tuesday.
Surveillance cameras from several businesses captured Harris in the area at the time of the shooting wearing the same clothes he had on when he was arrested. The victim also identified Harris as the man who shot him.
Harris was picked up by police shortly after midnight Monday in the 1000 block of West Argyle Street in the Uptown neighborhood.
Police spotted him on the street and identified him by the facial tattoos described by the victim.
Harris was on parole for a felony conviction of making false reports to 911, including making “hundreds of calls reporting rapes that were not occurring”.
He also has a robbery conviction and four misdemeanor convictions on his record

ID found after robbery leads to suspect

It  wasn’t hard for authorities to track down a North Side man accused of trying to rob one fast food restaurant and actually holding up another one on Broadway this week after they found his gym bag with his identification inside.
Huston, of the 1800 block of North Dayton Street, is charged with aggravated robbery of a Quiznos in the 3900 block of North Broadway and attempted aggravated robbery of a Subway restaurant in the 3800 block of North Broadway.

The staffer could not open the register without a making a sale, so she went to retrieve another staffer and Huston left on foot from the eatery without taking any money.
About an hour later, a man fitting Huston’s description entered the Quiznos and said: “I have a gun’’ and ordered a staffer to open the register. Huston took $250 and fled northbound on Clarendon.
Video surveillance caught him fleeing the scene carrying a blue duffel bag, and officers looking for him found the bag in the 700 block of West Irving Park Road with medication, clothing and Huston’s name and address.
