3 shot, 1 fatally, in North Kenwood X

A 26-year-old man has died and a second man was injured after they were shot this afternoon in the North Kenwood neighborhood.
The shooting was reported at 4:57 p.m. on the 4500 block of South Woodlawn Avenue.
 He was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 5:56 p.m.
He was found in a vehicle. A second man, also in his 20s, was shot in the foot and was in good condition. A  third victim, an 18-year-old man was shot in the stomach and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition had stabilized

Human leg found at Lake Michigan on South Side

A human leg was discovered this afternoon lying on the rocks of Lake Michigan on the South Side in the Kenwood neighborhood.
About 2:42 p.m., police were alerted to the 4700 block of Lake Shore Drive for human remains that had been found.
The remains were a leg that had been cut off at the hip.
Police are conducting a death investigation.

Edgewater shooting seriously injures man

A 30-year-old man was shot multiple times this afternoon in the Edgewater Beach neighborhood on the North Side.
Someone shot the man in the legs and buttocks at 1:20 p.m. in the 5300 block of North Kenmore Avenue.
He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center

19-year-old and 20-year-old shot in Gage Park

In a shooting, a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old were wounded about 11:30 p.m. in an alley west of the 5200 block of South Fairfield Avenue.
Someone opened fire from inside an SUV as the two walked home from a party, striking the 19-year-old man twice in the back and the 20-year-old man in the stomach and arm.
The 19-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and the 20-year-old was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Police said their conditions had stabilized

Woman shot in Lawndale

A female in her early 20s, was also shot in the foot just before 5 a.m. near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Kedvale Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood

3 rob, shoot victim in foot on South Side

Police are looking for three assailants after a 24-year-old man was robbed and then shot in the foot early this morning in the North Kenwood neighborhood.
Police responded to the 4600 block of South Woodlawn Avenue about 12:30 a.m. and found a 24-year-old man had been shot.
The victim, who was taken to University of Chicago Hospitals in good condition, told police one of three assailants who’d confronted him pulled a black handgun and pointed it at his head while the others went through his pockets.
After they robbed him they shot the victim in the foot and all three fled eastbound through an alley

A shooting in the Gage Park neighborhood this evening left a man in critical condition, police said.
The 50-year-old man was shot just after 7 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Sawyer Avenue.
He sustained three gunshot wounds to the stomach and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn

Teen girl killed, boy wounded in shooting near South Side high school

A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot and 16-year-old boy wounded about three blocks from King College Prep on the South Side this afternoon. The shooting occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue. A 16 year-old boy was shot in the leg and a 15-year-old girl was wounded in the back. The Cook County medical examiner's office has been notified that the girl died. One of the teens was taken in serious to critical condition to Comer Children's Hospital.The other victim also was taken to Comer and police at first believed both victims' conditions had stabilized by a little after 3 p.m.
A group of 10 to 12 teens at the park had taken shelter under a canopy there during a rainstorm when a boy or man jumped a fence in the park, ran toward the group and opened fire. The attacker then got into an auto and left the area. Those in the group were not cooperating with police, however, and investigators had no detailed descriptions.

A  17-year-old was shot about 4:20 a.m. Friday morning in the 5000 block of South Woodlawn Avenue in the Kenwood neighborhood. The boy was shot in the leg and buttocks

Boy shot in North Kenwood

A 14-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after being shot in the North Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side this afternoon.
The boy told police he “heard shots and felt pain’’ while in the 900 block of East 44^th Street at 3:25 p.m.
The boy was wounded in his back and right arm and was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
Police found two shell casings at the scene and said a car that was “shot up’’ around the same time just west of the 44^th Street address was related to the shooting

Woman stabbed to death on South Side, offender in custody

A young woman was found stabbed to death this afternoon inside her apartment on the South Side in the city's North Kenwood neighborhood.
Killed was Rachell Harris, 23.
Police were alerted about a domestic disturbance about 4:30 p.m. on the 4600 block of South Lake Park Avenue.
When police arrived, they found the woman unresponsive with a stab wound to her neck.
A person was taken into custody but, no charges had been filed.

Keenan Jamison, 22, of the 12200 block of South May Street was charged with one count of first-degree murder in a homicide that occurred Tuesday in the 4600 block of South Lake Park Avenue.
He is accused of stabbing to death Racshell Harris, 23. An autopsy found that she died of multiple stab wounds to her neck,

16-year-old boy shot in Kenwood

 A 16-year-old boy was shot in the right bicep on the 1000 block of East 41st Street in the Oakland neighborhood about 6:35 p.m.
He was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital

25-year-old woman shot in the face man shot in the arm in Kenwood

 A 25-year-old woman was shot in the face on the 4700 block of South Lake Park Avenue and taken to Jackson Park Hospital.
A man in his 20s was shot in the arm at the same location, and the two drove to Jackson Park Hospital. The woman was later transferred to Stroger hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Teen girl shot in Kenwood

A 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side this afternoon and investigators are seeking a black sport-utility vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene.
 At 4:05 p.m. police were called to the 4800 block of South Drexel Boulevard because a 16-year-old girl had been shot in the left thigh.
Investigators determined that someone inside a black SUV fired the shots that hit the teen, who was standing with other people in front of a building at the Drexel address.
