19 and 18 year old men shot in East Side

A shooting, on the 9800 block of South Avenue G around 12:21 p.m., left an 18-year-old man with a graze wound to the neck and a 19-year-old man injured. The two were in a vehicle when another vehicle pulled up and someone from inside began shooting.
The 19-year-old was injured when shrapnel from the shooting struck him in the arm pit, police said.
The men drove themselves to Advocate Trinity Hospital where their conditions had also stabilized

At least 2 wounded in Far South Side shooting

At least two people were wounded tonight in a shooting on the Far South Side in the city's East Side neighborhood.
About 8:34 p.m., police were alerted about a shooting that happened on the 10600 block of South Green Bay Avenue.
Two people were wounded in the shooting and self-transported themselves to the hospital.
One person showed up at Stroger Hospital and the other went to Advocate Trininty Hospital

Shooting in Chicago March 22- 23, 2013

2 men shot in Rogers Park
Someone shot two people in Rogers Park before fleeing in a black car early Saturday morning.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jonquil Terrace and Paulina Street.
Both men were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. One is in "extremely critical" condition and the other in serious condition
23 year old man shot in Humboldt Park, dog escapes injury
In the Humboldt Park neighborhood, a 23-year-old man walking his dog was shot about 2:30 a.m.
He was taken from the 3900 block of West Thomas Street to Mount Sinai Hospital with wounds to his back and right arm. His dog was not injured.
21 year old mn shot in Little Village
At about 5:30 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the chest near 25th and Troy streets in the Little Village neighborhood and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Man shot in Englewood
A  man walked into Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center tonight after he was wounded in a shooting on the South Side at about 8:15 p.m.
Police said the man had a gunshot wound to his side and said he had been shot in the 7200 block of South Normal Avenue
Man shot on East Side
At 108th Street and Ewing Avenue, a man told police he was shot after hearing four or five gunshots. The man, 26, went home, changed his clothes, and had his mother drive him to a hospital in Indiana about 6 p.m.
He suffered a graze wound to the right thigh and fled the hospital after being treated for the wound.
Man shot in South Shore
A man was shot and critically wounded this morning in the South Shore neighborhood.
The victim was standing in the street in the 7800 block of South Muskegon Avenue when someone shot him in the back at 9:47 a.m.
The man, in his mid 20s, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical condition

9-year-old charged in McDonald's armed robbery also arrested in carjacking

A 9-year-old boy arrested and charged with armed robbery at a McDonald's last month was one of four people arrested Thursday night in connection with a carjacking.
. The 9-year-old was released into the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
He was in the car with two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-olds Thursday night, when the four were arrested in a carjacking that began about 9:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of Avenue D in the East Side neighborhood on the Southeast Side.
The three older boys were each charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm. One of the 15-year-olds, the driver, was charged with aggravated possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police said the group pointed what looked like a rifle, but was actually a pellet gun, at the driver of a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire, then jumped in the Sunfire and took off. A gang enforcement car traveling south on Ewing Avenue near 95th Street saw the northbound car coming toward them, turned around and gave chase.
The chase ended a short time later at 8500 S. Burley Avenue. The four jumped out and tried to run but police had converged on the chase and the teens and 9-year-old were caught a short time later, .

Shooting in Chicago 2- 11- 2013

Boy, 15, shot on Southeast Side, critically injured
A 15-year-old boy was shot and critically injured in the East Side neigborhood and stumbled into a neighborhood drugstore seeking help.
The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition following the shooting in the 10500 block of South Avenue L about 4:50 p.m.
Following the shooting, the boy walked into a Walgreens Drug store at 2611 E. 106th St., seeking help.
The boy was shot in the lower back in the 3600 block of East 106th Street about 5 p.m. and taken to the hospital
31 year old man shot in Little Village
At about 6:30 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in the 2600 block of South Kolin Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood.
Police said a male shooter approached on foot and shouted gang slogans before firing a gun. The shooter fled in a dark-colored van.
The man was taken with a gunshot wound to the buttocks to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

9-year-old among boys using paintball gun in Skyway restaurant stickups

Three boys, including a 9-year-old, were arrested after they brandished a paintball gun to rob two 12-year-old boys in the McDonald's on the Chicago Skyway. said police and prosecutors.
The robberies happened Sunday at a McDonald's restaurant in the 4000 block of East 106th Street about 6:30 p.m. The restaurant is the McDonald's on the Chicago Skyway, 4047 E. 106th St.
Lamar C. Lewis, 17, of the 8200 block of South Houston Avenue, was charged as an adult with felony aggravated robbery .
A 16-year-old boy from Chicago was charged as a juvenile with aggravated robbery.
In addition to those teens a 9-year-old boy was also arrested and appeared in juvenile court on Tuesday but juvenile charges against him are pending.
The three suspects were with at least two other boys when they used what police believe to be a paintball gun to rob two 12-year-old boys inside the restaurant.
Lewis was with the 16-year-old and at least two other boys in the bathroom of the restaurant and confronted a 12-year-old boy.
After brandishing what police believe may have been a paintball gun, Lewis and several members of the group began to beat the first victim. During the beating, they threw him to the ground and went through his pockets. They took the boy's cell phone, iPod and money.
As they were leaving the restaurant, the group of five suspects, this time including a 9-year-old boy robbed a second 12-year-old in another part of the restaurant. They stole a cell phone from the second boy.
The second robbery was witnessed by a 44-year-old man and 33-year-old woman.
The man ran after the group of boys and managed to lead police to at least three of the five suspects.
Lewis and the 16-year-old boy were arrested at about 7 p.m. on the 10900 block of South Ewing and the 9-year-old was arrested on the 10800 block of South Ewing at about the same time,.
The other two suspects managed to escape. The paintball gun was not recovered.
The boy in the bathroom sustained bruising to his face but declined medical attention. The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents after a hearing this week

Man, 20, found fatally shot in East Side


A 20-year-old man was found dead this morning with an apparent gunshot wound to his head in the East Side neighborhood. Police responded to the 10900 block of South Mackinaw Avenue for a report of an unresponsive man and found the victim. The man had sustained a gunshot wound to his head and was deceased when police arrived.
The victim later was identified as Gino Angotti, of the 10900 block of South Buffalo Avenue, who was declared dead at 8:29 a.m. on the scene

3rd man charged in 2009 gang-related killing

A third man has been charged in connection with a gang-related 2009 homicide on the South Side.
Jesus Zuniga, 28, of the 700 block of E. Frye Avenue in Peoria has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
Zuniga is charged for his role in the Aug. 17, 2009 killing of Carlton Ewing, 24, who was shot as he rode with others in a car on the 9800 block of South Ewing Avenue.
Ewing and the others in the vehicle drove past a group of males who were flashing gang signs and shouting gang slogans. After hearing, shouting Ewing and the others heard gun shots.

Ewing, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, told the others that he had been shot in the back. The driver drove several blocks before they could call for an ambulance. Ewing was transported to Christ Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.
A short time after the shooting happened, police issued an alert with surveillance photos of the suspected offenders.

On September 2, 2009, Juan Macias who was 21 at the time, of the 10100 block of S. Avenue N was charged with one count of first-degree murder. On January 31, 2010, Robert Schultz, who was 18 at the time of the 9500 block of S. Avenue L was charged with one count of first- degree murder.
Zuniga was arrested on Friday.

Police wound shooting suspect on Southeast Side

Chicago police wounded a shooting suspect this morning following a chase on the city's Southeast Side.
The incident began with officers witnessing an armed man firing shots in the 11000 block of South Avenue M just after 2 a.m..
The gunman fled the scene in a vehicle with officers in pursuit. During the chase, the suspect's vehicle struck a squad car assisting in the pursuit.
At some point during the pursuit, the gunman got out of his vehicle and was shot in the leg by an officer. He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital for treatment.
No officers were reported injured.

Man critically wounded in East Side shooting

A 49-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot three times in the East Side neighborhood.
The shooting happened at about 5:30 p.m. on the 10500 block of South Avenue B.
Preliminary reports indicated that the man may have been a robbery victim and was shot.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn
