2 shot in Greektown

Sometime around 4 a.m., two people were shot near the intersection of West Jackson Street and South Halstead Boulevard. One of them arrived at Mount Sinai without the assistance of an amubulance, and the other arrived at Stroger.

Two men stabbed in the Greektown neighborhood

Two men were stabbed about 4:30 this morning in the 200 block of South Halsted Street in the Greektown neighborhood on the near West Side. Two groups of people, including both males and females, were fighting in an alley in that area and a 29-year-old man was stabbed in the lower back and a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the left armpit and left chest. The 31-year-old was transported in critical condition to John H. Stroger, Jr., Hospital of Cook County. No condition was available on the 29-year-old, who was taken to Northwestern Memorial
