Authorities have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with a fatal
shooting earlier this week outside a McDonald's restaurant in the Lincoln Square
neighborhood.
Cordero H. Sims, of Naperville, was charged with first-degree murder in the
killing of 25-year-old Ibrinzon Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was found fatally shot just after 7 p.m. Monday in a parking lot
outside the restaurant, which is in the 4900 block of North Lincoln Avenue.
Police said Sims has been identified as the shooter in the killing.

Man fatally shot in McDonald's parking lot in Lincoln Square
A man was fatally shot this evening in a McDonald's restaurant parking lot in the
Lincoln Square neighborhood.
The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the 4900 block of North Lincoln Avenue in the parking lot that serves the restaurant, a hardware store and a bowling alley.
Police were on the scene of the shooting where the victim was found in a dark blue BMW vehicle parked in the lot with its lights on.
A source said the man sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his head. He may have been shot in a drug deal gone awry

Baby killed, mom seriously wounded at North Side motel
A 5-month-old baby boy was killed and his mother seriously wounded in an apparent murder-suicide attempt at a motel on North Lincoln Avenue this morning.
The child and mother were found in the Diplomat Motel in the 5200 block of North Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 a.m.
The baby was identified as Isaac Bolanos, 5 months, of an unknown addressoffice. He was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital and declared dead.
Police sources said it appeared the woman stabbed the baby and then herself.
A 5-month-old child was dead at the scene and a woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, according to a Fire Department spokesman.

Store employees attacked in Lincoln Square robberies
Police have issued an alert for a man who attacked workers during robberies
at two businesses in the Lincoln Square area.
On March 21, a man entered a business in the 2300 block of West Leland Avenue around 4:15 p.m. and asked a clerk for help, then walked up to the counter and announced a robbery. After grabbing cash from the register, the man punched and kicked the clerk before running off.
On Sunday, the man walked into a business in the 1900 block of West Montrose Avenue around 2:45 p.m., asked for help, then grabbed a worker and announced a robbery. The worker handed over money and tried to leave, but the robber punched the worker in the face.

Woman who attacked CTA driver trying to take bathroom break arrested
A Chicago woman attacked a CTA bus driver who would not immediately let her board
a bus in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood.
The 39-year-old bus driver parked the bus at the Brown Line stop at 4645 N. Western Ave. on March 8 to use the washroom when Tabitha Flournoy, 30, asked if she could get on.
The bus driver told Flournoy that she'd have to wait until she returned, but Flournoy became enraged. She punched the driver multiple times with a closed fist, knocking the glasses off her face.
The driver suffered scratches on the left side of her face and neck.
Flournoy, of the 2200 block of West Catalpa Avenue, was charged with felony aggravated battery of a transit employee
