A 39-year-old man was shot about 2 a.m. during an apparent robbery in the 4800 block of South Komensky Avenue. Police said the man was walking down the block when two assailants, one of them armed with a gun, approached and announced a robbery. The man cooperated but was shot in the shoulder, and his assailants fled with his wallet and cell phone.
The man was listed in good condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center of Oak Lawn.

Man shot in Archer Heights
A man was shot about 4:25 a.m. near Pulaski Road and 50th Street in the Archer
Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side. He drove himself to
Mount Sinai Hospital, where he's being treated for a gunshot wound to the
shoulder.
20 year old man shot in Garfield Park
A man was left in serious-to-critical condition after a shooting on
the West Side in the city's East Garfield Park neighborhood. The shooting
happened shortly after 7 p.m. on the 600 block of North Kedzie Avenue. A man, 20, suffered
a gunshot wound to his chest and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to
Mount Sinai Hospital.
Man critically hurt in South Side shooting
A man was shot and critically injured Sunday night as he sat in a car in the South
Side's Avalon Park neighborhood.
About 11:05 p.m., a single gunshot rang out in the 8000 block of South Woodlawn Avenue. When officers arrived, they spotted a car facing southbound that had crashed into a car parked at the curb.
A man in the driver's seat was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head. The man, whose identity and age could not be immediately determined by police, was taken in "very critical" condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County,.
Police believe two male assailants ran northbound from the scene after the shooting. Early this morning, the car remained southbound on Woodlawn with its driver's side door ajar, window rolled down.

4 people shot in Archer Heights
At about midnight, four people were injured in a shooting following a dispute at
a bar in the 5100 block of South Archer Avenue in the Archer Heights
neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
Three men and a woman were shot as they left the bar.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg, a 29-year-old man was shot in the neck, and a 26-year-old woman was shot in the hand. A 46-year-old man was also shot.
The conditions of all four were stabilized at local hospitals

Man dies days after shooting in family yard
A 33-year-old St. Louis man died after being shot over the weekend in the backyard of a relative's home in the Archer Heights neighborhood.
Francisco Chairez-Munoz, who police said was visiting relatives was in the yard of a home on the 5100 block of South Kostner Avenue at about 2 a.m..
As Chairez-Munoz and the relative were in the yard someone snuck into the yard from an alley and began firing, striking Chairez-Munoz, police said. After the shooting the offender fled south.
Chairez-Munoz was initially taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he wsa later pronounced dead , at 11:40 p.m. Monday

Two women, 18 and 19, shot in Englewood
Two women, 18 and 19, were shot in the 5600 block of South Ada Street in the Englewood neighborhood about 2:50 a.m. The older woman was shot in the arm and the younger was grazed in the hand. They told police they “heard shots and felt pain” as they were leaving a party on the block. Both were taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center.
33-year-old man shot in Archer Heights
At about 2 a.m., someone shot a 33-year-old man in his upper back in the 5100 block of South Kostner Avenue in the Archer Heights neighborhood. He was in the back yard with others when the shooter approached on foot and opened fire from the alley. He fled south down the alley. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and his condition stabilized

A 22-year-old man walked into Rush Hospital and Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg about 1:50 a.m. He told police he had been shot in the 200 block of South Central Park Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. He was later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and his condition was stabilized

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood about 11:20 p.m. He was walking with about a group when someone inside a passing dark car started shooting, Greer said. The boy was hit in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

A 17-year-old boy was shot after getting into an argument with his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend in the Englewood neighborhood. The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Green Street. The boy, who was shot in the groin, was taken to Christ hospital in serious condition.

Someone dropped a 20-year-old man off at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center with a gunshot wound about 12:10 a.m. Two men approached the man in the 4000 block of South Prairie Avenue, demanded money and started beating him. The man tried to flee and was shot once in the leg.

Toddler dies after being hit by car on Southwest Side
A 3-year-old at a baptism party was hit by a car in the Archer Heights neighborhood and died overnight.
The boy was hit about 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of West 47th Street on the Southwest Side and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead there about 11:11 p.m..
Police initially thought the incident may have been a hit-and-run but the driver that hit the boy drove to a police station to report the incident. The driver was cited for hitting a pedestrian in a roadway.

A 30-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in the South Deering neighborhood this evening.The man was shot at about 7 p.m. on the 2500 block of East 104th Street.
The man was shot in the left side of his body and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center
24-year-old man shot in Bronzeville
About 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of East 47th Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side, a 24-year-old man was shot in the elbow

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the 11400 block of South Halsted Street about 11 p.m. He was walking on a sidewalk in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side when someone shot him in the foot. He was taken to Roseland Hospital.

A man was shot in the right ankle about the same time in the 200 block of West 112th Place in Roseland. He was standing on the second-floor landing of an apartment building in the block. Police said he and two others that may be involved, a woman and a current or former boyfriend of hersm are not cooperating with investigators

At about 1:10 a.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot near Central Avenue and Washington Street in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. His family dropped him off at West Suburban Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right foot.

Someone drove a 17-year-old boy to Loretto Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right calf. He had been shot about 3:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Congress Parkway in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. His condition had stabilized.
26-year-old woman and her 1 year old child shot in Englewood
A 26-year-old woman and her toddler son were shot on the South Side this evening.The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m. on the 1700 block of West 73rd Street.
Witnesses said three gunmen stepped out of a van and started shootingshot.
The woman had been sitting in the passenger's seat of a minivan with her son on her lap.
Three other women were in the parked vehicle, and four other children were sitting inside or nearby.
A family friend drove both to Holy Cross Hospital, and the toddler was later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Both their conditions were stabilized

A male was wounded late this morning in a shooting in the city's Morgan Park neighborhood.
That shooting happened about 11:22 a.m. on the 1300 block of West 112th Street. The male was inside a car when another vehicle pulled up and someone from inside fired shots.

23-year-old man shot in Rogers park
A 23-year-old man was shot about 4:15 a.m. while driving near the intersection of
West Howard Street and North Marshfield Avenue in the Rogers park neighborhood
on the Far North Side. Someone in another vehicle fired shots,
stirking the man in the arm.
He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was listed in fair condition.
Woman shot in Back of the Yards
Shortly after 3 a.m., a female showed up at the University of Chicago Medical
Center with a graze wound to the head. She had apparently been shot
in the 5100 block of South Union Avenue in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on
the South Side.

2 charged in connection with Archer Heights garage burglary
Two men were charged today in connection with a
Friday morning garage burglary, one of several garage burglaries that have
occurred recently in the city's Archer
Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
At about 4:25 a.m. Friday, a woman who was peering
through her window saw a man standing by her garage door on the 5000 block of
South Keeler Avenue. She also saw a pile
of tools near the man.
The woman then saw the man load an air compressor, a cordless power drill and
other tools into a brown 2000 Jeep Cherokee that was parked near the garage.The owner investigated further, found that the door of the garage had been opened and several items were missing, and alerted police. A Chicago Lawn District officer heard a description on the robber and the getaway vehicle, leading the officer to pull over a car that matched that description on the 4100 block of West 47th Street.
Police said one occupant of the vehicle was Furczon Kazimierz, 49, of the 5000 block of South Komensky Avenue, who was later charged with one count of burglary.
The other occupant of the Jeep, Stanislaw Dziurdzik, 50, of the 5100 block of West 63rd Place was charged with possessing burglary tools, a misdemeanor

Woman dies in Southwest Side car accident
One woman died and three other people were injured in a car crash this morning in the Archer Heights neighborhood.
One car rear-ended another at 4950 S. Pulaski Road about 4 a.m., forcing the second car into a pole.
Nobody from the car that hit the pole was injured, police said, and the woman who died was sitting in the back of the first car.
Of the four riding in that car, two went to Mount Sinai Hospital and two went to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said. One of them tried to leave the scene.

A 22-year-old Chicago man was charged with reckless homicide with a motor vehicle in connection with a crash that killed an Oak Lawn woman early Friday morning on the Southwest Side, according to police.
Mario Mandujano, of the 4700 block of South Kedvale Avenue, was ordered held Sunday in lieu of a $350,000 bond following a hearing before Cook County Criminal Court Judge Adam D. Bourgeois Jr.
Mandujano, who remained in the hospital with severe injuries including a broken right leg, was also cited with driving under the influence, negligent driving, failure to reduce speed, and striking a fixture or other property.
Prosecutors said Sunday that Mandujano’s blood alcohol level registered just under the legal limit, at .075.
Susan Pintor, 23, died in the crash. She was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police said Mandujano rear-ended a car and then crashed into a pole in the 4900 block of South Pulaski Road. Pintor was in the back seat.
Three other people in the car with Pintor, including Mandujano, were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries
