A couple riding in a vehicle waiting in traffic were wounded Sunday night near a South Side intersection, police said.
The shooting happened at about 7:45 p.m. on the 7100 block of South Greenwood Avenue, police said.
The 21-year-old victim told police that he was stopped in traffic with his 19-year-old female passenger when another vehicle pulled up along his and someone opened fire, police said, citing preliminary information.
The man was struck in the right leg, while his passenger was struck in the buttocks. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, police said.
No one had been arrested in the shooting and police didn't have a description of the other vehicle or its driver.
