26-year-old man shot in West Englewood

About 9 p.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old man was shot in the chest in the city's West Englewood neighborhood, police said.
Preliminary reports stated the man was walking on the street in the 5700 block of South Throop Street when an unknown suspect approached on foot and shot him. The man was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital

More shot, more shot dead 18 year old shot

Shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, an 18-year-old man was found shot in the back on the South Side in the city's Englewood neighborhood. The shooting happened in a driveway on the 1400 block of West 61st Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Dan O'Brien. The victim was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, O'Brien said.

Woman found shot to death on South Side

Chicago police are investigating the shooting death of a woman found lying on the ground this morning in the city's Englewood neighborhood, officials said.
Officers responded to a call of a person down shortly after 6 a.m. on the 5700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. On arrival, police found a woman, described as in her mid 20s to 30s, with a gunshot wound to her head, Mirabelli said, citing preliminary reports.
The woman was pronounced dead, but it was not clear if she was taken to an area hospital or pronounced at the scene.
