Just wondering what your source is? I'd like to link to it.

I would also love to link to the source too. Can you link it?

It's all horribly sad and we should be disgusted as a society that this seems to happen on a regular basis. But to compare what is happening in Chicago, to New Town, seems trite and a bit silly. To lump anyone under the age of 18, killed in Chicago this year...to 6 and 7 year olds, killed in one day, in one incident, by one killer....is kind of pathetic. Both are tragic...in their own horrible way.

The point is that Gun Control does not work as people hope & feel that it should. Why don't people that are bent on killing others obey the law do you think???

I hope you can figure it out for yourself, but I'm not sure our elected officials have a clue!

God Bless Texas!

I would like a source too. If you have the source, simply give us a web url.

Don't get me wrong, I think gun control is stupid. But if one truly has a source, they should post that source directly onto their page. It makes them and their site more trustworthy.

To Anonymous in the previous comment:

You demonstrate one of the most frustrating problems in today's America: Laziness. The author shows you where to find this information, and gives you specific instructions as to how to find the information through channels that the leftist idiots will trust too, and then you bitch when he hasn't provided a link to a webpage detailing the information. There will NOT BE a webpage, simply because this information doesn't fit the mass media's idea of what should be reported, nor does it fit the "progressive" agenda. Therefore, there will never be a link.

FYI, for further information, check out the CIC or the FBI data. Chicago is the worst anal orifice in the US (only slightly worse than Detroit) You might also go to this link and see that Chicago had 82 murders in EIGHT days in August. Guess that really strict gun control really works right? http://chicagoist.com/2012/09/01/chicago_police_get_federal_assistan.php

This is an irrelevant point to make. comparing total school age children murdered in one year in a city with 2,700,000 people to what happened in 15 minutes in a town of 25,000 people is just stupid.

Anonymous said...

These kids are all ghetto trash gangbangers dont believe this crap these poor kids are getting caught in the cross fire and the city cant stop the gang violence this stat also talks about is the 80 percent of the guns on chicago streets were purchased legally or stolen from gun shops and sold on the black market ... STOP THE MANUFACTURE OF ASSUALT WEAPONS AND THE STOP HITTING THE STREETS

The Right to Bear Activist Guy said...

Interesting report. VERY interesting. I live near Washington, DC and you're inspiring me to look into similar stats for that city, too.

Every day, our local newscasts begin with at least one report of a shooting. Sometimes, stabbings, fires, storms, or other topics with shock value elbow their way into the opening mix but inevitably there is news of another shooting before the first commercial break arrives.

It's hard to understand people who surrender their right and obligation to protect themselves and their neighbors to government agencies which have been proven incapable, at best, of protecting them. And, as your findings support, at worst, our legislators attacks on our Constitution does much harm.

Even your source is not a credible source. It is another blogger providing information without sourcing. Pathetic. If you want to prove a point do it with some dignity. If you want to seem credible don't disrespect your readers requesting information because some of us are intelligent enough to ask questions and look for truth in the answers which you have not provided to us "lazy" folks.

Anonymous said...

I'm assuming you're fact checking the information you get from the local media. Most likely not, because you'd be more upset that more people aren't upset. I think the word "lazy" was a polite way of saying "stupid". This isn't about comparing, it's about getting people to think for themselves and to see what isn't always in front of them. Do your own research! This was one person's research, post your results and prove them wrong.

Anonymous said...

Prove them wrong, how about proving the integrity of the information. Instead of validating the information it is easier to tell someone else to "do their own research"? If you want to prove a point then prove it, not try to have someone else discredit it. This is worthless.

Anonymous said...

Check out Detroit, New York and LA they're far worse.

What makes the CT slaying so special is that we assume our children are safe in school, so this incident is threatening to all of us who have children. Your so called source may be true however your incidents are mainly innocent bystanders and didn't take place in a school.

Corry said...

These horrific crimes, Newtown for example, always seem to occur where there are NO guns.

laker said...

do your own research to discredit, you lazy pr*cks

Anonymous said...

How about addressing that since 1992 over 11,000 people have been killed with guns in Chicago yet no one said anything about gun control then.

Anonymous said...

A child is a child, their age shouldn't matter nor should if it happened at one time. When all of these senseless shooting and murders where happening in urban areas something should have been done about guns laws then.

Anonymous said...

This is why our 2nd amendment right to bear arms is so important; law-abiding citizens must have the right to protect themselves from roving bands of gun toting criminals who have shown a blatant disregard for the laws, rules and traditions of their host societies. Gun restriction laws only serve to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. Criminals don’t obey the laws and therefore they will always have guns.

God Help Us said...

Said in a high, whining voice: "Please, Rahm, Obama, and all you wonderful Democrats, take those bad guns away and protect poor widdle me. I don't have the strength, courage, brains or will to take care of me and my family. Oh, and I can't get the job I want, so gimme another year of welfare and tax all those big bad rich people. Sorry, Barack, I didn't mean to bother you while you're on another Hawaii vacation. Oh, gee, the Bears are on. Honey, get me a MIller Lite and a bag of chips willya?"

This is the level to which America has sunk.

Anonymous said...

It's just another example of selective moral outrage on the part of the liberals. My bet is that most of the Chicago and other major city murders of children involve inner city blacks. They aren't important, I guess. There's never mention of these incidents in the news.

For Obama to use this tragedy to move his gun control initiative along is sad. But, he believes the government should never waste a crisis if he can profit from it.

Seeing that he is black and from Chicago he should be outraged about what's happening there. I guess it's because he's black, but not African-American and has never experienced the life he lies that he supports.

laker said...

this killing of children is really no big deal, it is right in line with the liberal agenda:
it's called late-late term abortion, and it's not very different than the "partial birth abortion" bill your savior in the black house sponsored when he was still here in Springfield.
I don't believe you libs' fake outrage in regards to the killing of "chilluns" for one minute.
it's what all you liberals, and many "independents", voted for - remember?

Just cuz ur a "ghetto kid" doesn't mean ur a gangbanger, or trash. It's all in choices u make not where u live, grew up, or poverty level. There's bad ppl everywhere. That's just r world today. Even rich kids in the best of neighborhoods kill ppl as u well know. Adam Lanza didn't have to work for n e thing. Mommy got him whatever he needed. Including the guns he used to slaughter her and 25 other ppl!! So don't place blame on ur so called "gangbangers". Think about it.

To those of you that say there is no comparison of these stats to the children killed in CT. What the hell is wrong with you people? This is the argument I'm taking away from your statements, it's perfectly OK for children to be killed as long as it's done one at a time rather than 20 at a time? 1st and foremost the gunman in CT did not use an assault rife, he used handguns, not that it makes much of a difference so banning assault rifles will do nothing. What part of criminals do not follow the law do you not understand? Here is a link to Mass shootings stopped by armed citizens http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/2012/12/mass-killings-stopped-by-armed-citizens.html
Also here is a link to teens that have saved themselves and/or their families by shooting intruders into their home...you can look up each individual case via a search engine...http://www.bing.com/search?q=teen+shoot+intruder&qs=n&form=QBRE&pq=teen+shoot+intruder&sc=6-19&sp=-1&sk=

CDC statistics reveals that a baby dies every 26 seconds in a medical facility in this country. That adds up to 3700 in a day. And there are parents mourning their loss too. Where is the silent moment for them?

This all has happened over a year CT happened in 20 minutes that is y this is on the news. They mention if someone has been shot on the news what you need the president to cry everytime someone gets shot. CT has nothing to do with Chicago it was 2 totally different events or multiple in Chicago.

what about the children that are killed everyday by their own parents ex Casey Anthony....or by serial killers....or by pedofiles or hey even a nanny....these kids are usually drowned, strangled or stabbed not shot.

Anonymous said...

Absolutely. The only people who will abide by the gun laws will become the victims. Criminals aren't worried about breaking a gun law!!!it boils down to responsibility as parents and being a constructive part of your community. If a person is set on killing people they will figure out how to do it. Are we going to out law bats, knives, bow and arrows and fire too?

Anonymous said...

Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in America. So how would more gun laws help?

Anonymous said...

What's your point? This is irrelevant. Apples and oranges, two different things. The recent tragedy was one killer one incident in a much smaller town in a matter of a few minutes.

Glenda Hutchens Gammel said...

Since 2 Timothy and Hosea are posted on top, I hope you may consider changing the title, perhaps to: "Connecticut has nothing on Chicago..." .... just to maximize sharing exposure. In my humble opinion, many more would share this without the expletive. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Nobody has a good answer for that. Gun laws make some people feel less helpless even though the data shows they are ineffective

Anonymous said...

First and foremost, my heart goes out in deepest sympathy to any parent who loses a child. I have two children I have "lost" because they have chosen not to have a relationship with me, so I have some idea of the pain one suffers - maybe less because at least they are still alive - maybe more because we are separated by their choice, not someone else's.

My point, though, is this. I am so sick of the media because they cherry pick their stories - and it is obvious that they pick the ones that give them the opportunity to further their agenda. You will never hear any of them cover the atrocities associated with the murder of 62 Chicago school aged children. Death by one or two at a time doesn't evoke the nation's emotion, and so therefore the media cannot leverage this to push their agenda.

Jim said...

I love the brilliant but anonymous posters who think that killing 20 children at once is bad, but killing them one or two at a time is acceptable.

Anonymous said...

And nothing but the name of JIM, might as well be anonymous!

"For those asking for a "source", obtaining the source or proof you require will take some work on your part"

Is that a joke? You're the one making the claim, the onus is on you to verify it. What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Whoever made this page is an idiot.

Yeah, nobody was ever murdered in the wild wild west when everyone was allowed to carry guns. There a lot of people that need to have guns to validate them but they are nothing but a punk without them, it is just a false sense of toughness.

Not born in Chicago but Obama was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004 representing Chicago brainchild

To cite sources for 446 murders would be 446 links.

Any time you put more than a few links into one post, the host (in this case Blogspot, in my case, WordPress) will shut down your site, calling it SPAM.

The blogger is right: do your own research. You won't believe the stats unless you do the research yourself, anyway.

Changing the gun laws, by taking
away the right to own guns is not
going to solve the problems we
are having in this country with
nutcases and criminals shooting
innocent people. Not only do we
need metal detectors and an armed
officer at every school entrance,
but we need to have our teachers
trained on how to protect and
defend our children from this
type of person with a gun. Had
the teachers or someone carried a
gun at this school in Connecticut, perhaps these children could have been saved.

Politicians across the country
are vowing to do more to prevent
school shooting tragedies like
the one that unfolded Friday in
Newtown, Conn. But over the last
few years, the Obama
administration and Congress
allowed funding for several
school safety initiatives to
lapse. Beneath the expressions of
grief, sorrow and disbelief over
the Connecticut school massacre
lies an uneasy truth in
Washington: over the last few
years the Obama administration
and Congress quietly let federal
funding for several key school
security programs lapse in the
name of budget savings while we
gave almost 2 billion dollars to
Egypt, and gave millions of
dollars to companies like
Solyndra that went bankrupt. You
will not see this information in
the main stream media that
continues to protect Obama from
adverse news.
We have armed officers and
metal detectors in almost every
courthouse and municipal building
entrance throughout this country,
to protect the judges and
attorneys, why are our children
and teachers less important? Why
don’t we have this type of
arrangement in all our schools
throughout the country? Why have
Obama and his administration cut
this funding for the schools.
Metal detectors and officers
worked for our airport security,
and it will work for our school
system equally as well.
No matter how many gun laws are
implemented there is always going
to be a nutcase that will get a
gun no matter what, and kill
incident people. I live in
Florida, and I feel much safer
when in public places because “I
know” that there are many people
carrying a concealed weapon, and
“so do the criminals”, and we
have much less homicides with guns than states like Connecticut, or New York that do not allow
ordinary citizens to carry a
concealed weapon. Concealed
carry is a deterrent to crime,
and owning a gun and being
allowed to have it in your home
is also a deterrent to crime.

Criminals and nutcases do not
care about laws and taking guns
away from law abiding citizens
only leaves them vulnerable to
attack by these criminals.

Remember it only takes a nutcase
or a criminal a few seconds to us
their gun and no police could
ever be by your side to defend
you and others against attack in
time to save your life.

Chicago is nearing 500 homicides with a total population of about 2.7 million. Oklahoma City, a conservative, free-gun paradise with a population of about 592,000, has had 85 murders so far this year. The murder rate seems to be about the same. So clearly allowing citizens to carry guns doesn't slow down the murder rate either.

Rant all you want to, you dumbass conservatives. Haters will hate.

Anonymous said...

"Rant all you want to, you dumbass conservatives. Haters will hate. "

The above comment was obviously submitted by a sweet loving "liberal"-minded person.

Let's cut to the chase. Haters of freedom and the responsibility which always comes with it, will always hate the constitution of the United States; and every free person who champions the wisdom with which it was instituted.

If you've never felt under-protected by a government police force which only arrives at the scene to begin the autopsies, then you are not getting out much. If you are a hater of liberty who hides behind a mask of love and "liberalism", may you look in the mirror and weep for your empty soul.

The answer is not in banning the tools of evil and more than in banning evil. That's been done already too.

Why stop with banning the weapons? Weapons are always held in those nasty hands.

It's those bad HANDS that are the problem!! BAN ALL HANDS NOW, before it's too late!

Anonymous said...

Odd how the gun grabbers want to outlaw guns that might kill children yet fund the American Abortion Holocaust that murders thousands of young children every day. Liberalism is indeed a MENTAL DISORDER!

His mother was indeed however HE was a murderer with mental issues and legally not supposed to be in possession of firearms period...
