16-year-old boy shot in the South Austin neighborhood

A 16-year-old boy was shot on the 1000 block of North Long Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood about 11 p.m. Someone stepped from between two cars and shot toward the car the boy was riding in, hitting him in the lower back. The driver of the car drove to the boy to Mount Sinai Hospital, where the teen is in stable condition. The driver of the car, 22, was wounded in a separate shooting on June 15 a block north. He was shot in the left forearm by someone inside a passing black car while standing on the 1100 block of North Long Avenue
