Woman stabbed on South Side with broken liquor bottle

A woman was stabbed and seriously injured when she was attacked by a woman who blamed her for a broken bottle of liquor.
The victim was walking to a store in the 400 block of West 75th Street shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday when she saw a woman selling cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
A group of youths walked past the woman and the bottle fell to the ground.
The woman accused the victim of causing the accident and demanded the victim replace her drink. When the victim ignored the woman and continued walking, the woman walked up behind her and struck her over the head with the broken bottle.
The attacker then picked up a rock and started beating the victim. The victim defended herself, but suffered cuts and puncture wounds.
The victim was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
