A car crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into a car carrying three women early this morning in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, killing one of them.
A Pontiac Grand Am was headed south in the 7000 block of Halsted Street when it crossed over and hit a Pontiac Grand Prix at about 2:10 a.m.. The driver of the Grand Am was suspected of being drunk.
A passenger in the Grand Prix, a woman in her 20s, was killed. The driver of the Grand Prix, a 28-year-old woman, was in serious-to-critical condition at Stroger Hospital. A 24-year-old passenger in the car was also at Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Grand Am, a 24-year-old man, was in fair condition at Stroger.
