From the Chicago Tribune
On a quiet, cool Saturday afternoon in Douglas
Park, about a dozen bird watchers stood under a large, bushy tree, peering
through binoculars to search its leafy branches for an ornithological version of
treasure dropping from the sky.
The American Birding Association has yet to conclusively identify that the bird is, indeed, an Elaenia. But if the find is confirmed, it would be only the second sighting of an Elaenia bird in the United States. The first was also a White-crested Elaenia in South Texas in 2008. The rare bird was last seen flying further south toward the Englewood neighborhood.
UPDATE:
The rare bird was again spotted at 6100 South Racine in Englewood where it was promptly shot my a member of the Black Disciples .

Figures...Even the birds aren't safe around this sh!thole.
lmfao I admire the humor in this article "perched amid the neighborhood sounds of sirens and a nearby basketball game" haha. But did the bird really get shot?
Yes, but he was only winged. Taken to Christ Hospital by ambulance, he is expected to make a full recovery.
