Man shot, critically wounded while sitting in car on South Side

A man sitting in a vehicle in the Park Manor neighborhood this evening was shot in the head by a man who ran up to the car and opened fire.
The man was sitting in a parked car in the 300 block of East 71st Street about 6 p.m. when a man ran up to the vehicle and fired several shots, hitting him in the head.
The shooting took place in front of a day care center or preschool, but it was unknown if any children were there at the time.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition,
