A man in his 20s died after being hit by an SUV driven by a possibly-intoxicated 21-year-old woman at the Near North Side intersection of Division and LaSalle streets early Saturday morning.
The woman fled the scene but was caught a couple blocks away.
The man was taken from the 1100 block of North LaSalle Street to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center but the extent of her injuries wasn't known.
Citations against the woman are pending
UPDATE:
The victim was identified as Jesse Bradley, of 1140 N. LaSalle Dr., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was declared dead at 2:54 a.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Bradley was a third year law student at Northwestern University Law School, according to university spokesman Alan Cubbage.
UPDATE:
Authorities on Sunday night have charged Bianca Garcia, 21, who was behind the wheel of the Jeep Liberty that fatally struck Jesse Bradley.
Garcia, of the 1800 block of West 34th Street, was charged with felony aggravated DUI, misdemeanor DUI, and misdemeanor reckless driving, police said. She was also cited for having no driver's license, no insurance and driving the wrong way on a one-way street
