A Chicago police officer shot a man on the 9300 block of South Vernon Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood about 11 p.m. Friday.
Police were called to a home on the block because of a domestic disturbance involving a man with a gun.
Police arrived and confronted the man in the back yard. Police, along with people at the house, yelled at him to drop the gun
And officer opened fire after the man started raising the gun, Camden said. The man's injuries are not life threatening.
Police recovered the gun he was holding in his hand and another gun he was carrying.
No officers were injured
