A 15-year-old boy walking with friends near a Southwest Side hospital was shot and killed late Tuesday night in the Marquette Park neighborhood.
Albert Guyton was gunned down about 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of 69th Street and Rockwell Avenue. The boy was walking with two other teens -- a boy and a girl -- on South Rockwel, when a gunman got out of a silver-colored sedan and opened fire.
Guyton was struck nearly a dozen times, including in the neck, chest and head, police said. At least 11 bullet casings were recovered at the scene.
His companions fled from the gunfire, then came back and were carrying Guyton's body to Holy Cross Hospital when a passing squad car stopped and called for an ambulance.
The teen was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced just after 10 p.m
