Two Chicago police officers suffered minor injuries when their squad car rolled over as they raced to assist another officer in catching a car thief.
The accident occurred on the 100th Street Bridge on the Southeast Side near 100th and Avenue L at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The South Chicago District officers were heading to help another officer pursuing a stolen van when their squad car struck a parked vehicle and flipped on its side.
The two officers were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where they were treated and released.
The stolen van was later found several blocks away, but the thief was gone by the time police arrived
