A 33-year-old man was shot in the arm while attempting to foil an armed robbery in the city's Englewood neighborhood, police said today.
The victim was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 7100 block of South Wentworth Avenue at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday when a gunman approached and demanded cash, police said, citing early reports.
In response, the victim grabbed the gun and was shot in the forearm, police said. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
