About 11:25 p.m., police responded to a call of a man stabbed multiple times at his home in the 5700 block of South Winchester Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. The man was dead when police arrived, he said.
Police believe the stabbing was domestic-related, Alfaro said.
The man was identified as Donnell LeFlore, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
LeFlore has an extensive criminal record, including convictions in a 1999 drug case and 2003 robbery case that resulted in prison terms. He also has pleaded guilty in battery cases and been charged at least three times with domestic battery, although charges in all three cases were dropped.
The woman being question in LeFlore's death was not the alleged victim in any of the cases against him.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

A woman has been released from police custody after being questioned in the stabbing death of a West Englewood man in his home, police said today.The woman, 24, had what appeared to be defensive injuries when officers arrived at the man's home in the 5700 block of South Winchester Avenue about 11:25 p.m. Thursday, police said after the attack. She was released Friday evening after the Cook County state's attorney's office declined to press charges against her, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

Why is it necessary to bring up the other cases if they do not link? What is the purpose really? The man served his time for his past. . From what i hear he was turning his life around. Just bashers...only God can judge. Rip Donnell LeFlore.
It was an accident. They were fighting. She was trying to get away from him by running toward the back door in the kitchen. She didn't intentionally mean to stab him; she had just wanted him off of her. I know the two personally, and they were very much in love, so I know for a fact it was an accident. Rest in peace Donnell and I will keep praying for both of their peace.
I hate when people try to put someone down. Ok yeah he maybe did those things but that still doesn't change the fact that he was murdered. Those things happened and he served his time for it so why should it be brought back up when he's dead and gone. That's just a way for him to look bad and make the person responsible for this look like the victim. This case was treated so unfairly only because of his background and that's not right at all. Justice should be justice no matter the person. Oh and by the way if it wasn't intentionally why did she stab him multiple times instead of once. That was enough to get him off of her. OR SHE COULD HAVE SIMPLY CALLED THE POLICE. A murder is a murder no matter the situation and i fell it should have been looked into more because if it was the other way around he would have been taken through World War III
They say he was stabbed multiple times but it was only twice. Once in the side and the other in the chest. Imagine a scuffle with someone twice your size with double the strength and rage. Her six year old and eleven month old sons were there and her son saw everything that happened and testified. It wasn't a murder regardless of his past, it was self defense. FYI she didn't even know about those convictions at all. If the tables were turned and her and her kids were killed in a drunken rage then what?

I wanna go to trial. I want the truth to be finally heard. Everyone is entitled to their opinions yet a polygraph would reveal it all. It's been 2yrs and this night keeps playing in my head. Say and/or think what you want- if a trial is what you all want then by all means you're well within your rights to one. Let 13 strangers hear the story and decide if self-defense was a justifiable decision. Nothing more needs to be said after this point.

Rip donnell leflore this is crazy why would anyone do this kind of stuff to you. you was an individual that had a good job and a family that cared about you. you had so much humor and you were outgoing you had changed so much and it was for the better.your family miss you so much and your little brother has been going crazy since you are gone i understand why bec someone took something so special away from his heart which is you. This case needs to be looked into more because there is information that has not been told to police yet.
