A child was killed and three other children were injured this evening in a car accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway, a fire department spokesman said.
The child, whose name and age has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight. Three other children were taken to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago.
Two adults were also taken to Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn following the crash, which occured near 75th Street.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office had not been notified of the fatality as of 8:35 p.m., an office spokesman said.
Police are investigating.
