Shooting in Englewood leaves man in critical

A man was shot and critically wounded on the street tonight in the city's Englewood neighborhood, authorities said.

Police remained on the scene of the 9:40 p.m. shooting in the 6600 block of South Justine Street, police said.

The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered gunshot wounds to his back and abdomen and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police spokesman Officer Dan O'Brien said.

Police had no other details immediately.
