Two men robbed a mail carrier of his mailbox key at gunpoint -- but gave back the keys to his vehicle -- this afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The mail carrier was in the 7800 block of South Indiana Avenue a little before 12:30 p.m. when he was confronted by two men, at least one of them armed, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
The robbers took a mailbox key off the carrier’s key chain, then gave him back the keys to the vehicle he was driving, Baety said.
