A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Friday night on the Southwest Side, police said.
Luis Cordova, 19, of the 2200 block of West 21st Place was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 10:12 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
At 10:05 p.m., Cordova was sitting in a vehicle in an alley in the 4600 block of South Talman Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood when a man exited a dark colored sport utility vehicle and approached him, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The men got into a fight and the attacker drew a handgun and shot Cordova multiple times in the head and shoulders before fleeing the scene, the release said.
Cordova's friend drove him to Mount Sinai Hospital, but he did not survive, the release said.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related.
No one was in custody and Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
