A man lit another man’s genitals on fire after catching him having sex with his
girlfriend Monday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
“This will be a lesson to you, I lit your (genitals) on fire,” he told the
30-year-old while using a Bic lighter to burn the man while he was unconscious.
The man ran to a Laundromat at 44th Street and Ashland Avenue, where police
found him applying Vaseline to the burned area in an attempt to sooth the pain.
He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and transferred to the burn unit at the
University of Chicago Hospital.
The man’s attacker found him having sex with his girlfriend at her apartment
in the 4400 block of South Honore Street.
He beat the 30-year-old unconscious and started to burn him while he was
still knocked out. The lighter was on a "high"
setting
