About 6:20 p.m., four people were shot in the 7300 block of South Laflin Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood, with one person dead on the scene, one critically injured and two whose exact conditions were unavailable but who had been stabilized

the back, while a 27-year-old man shot in the shoulder was taken to John H.
Stroger Jr. Hospital and a 27-year-old man shot in the buttocks was taken to
A fifth man also was wounded in the shooting, but his age and hospitalization

Four of the victims were sitting in a Chevrolet SUV and a fifth was standing
outside, talking to those in the car when two gunmen ran toward them from a 74th
Street and opened fire on the SUV before fleeing the scene. The
gunmen then fled on foot
