Ahmmed was arrested around noon Tuesday in the 5000 block of North Pulaski Road
after officers responded to a call of a man threatening a mail carrier with a
dog. The officers saw Ahmmed standing outside with the mail
carrier, who told the police he was threatening him.
The carrier told
police he was trying to deliver mail to a Laundromat at the Pulaski address when
he saw Ahmmed inside the business with his dog. Ahmmed came out and “shoved the
victim’s mail cart’’.
The carrier told him
the cart was government property and not to touch it, but Ahmmed used a racial
slur for an African-American and told the dog to “sic him’’ .
Ahmmed denied the allegations and assured police he was “not going
to do anything’’ .
But after officers left, he confronted
the carrier -- again using the racial slur--and said he hated African-Americans
and told his dog to attack the carrier. A witness called 911.
