Shootings in Chicago September 23, 24, 2013

23-year-old man shot in Englewood
Shortly before 1:15 p.m. in the Englewood neighborhood, a 23-year-old man was shot on the 7200 block of South Wentworth Avenue.
Witnesses told officers that the victim was approached by an offender who asked if he could use the victim's cell phone
The offender then pulled out a gun and shot the victim three times on the face at close range. The offender then fled the scene.
The victim was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County
2 men shot in Chatham
At  about 2:18 p.m. two men were shot on the 7900 block of South Langley Avenue.
One of them, a 19-year-old was shot multiple times and taken in critical condition to Stroger hospital. The other man, who is 22, was shot in the ankle and taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition.
39-year-old man shot in Jeffery Manor
A 39-year-old man was shot as he delivered food to a home in the 9900 block of South Paxton Avenue in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood. A gunman emerged from an alley and opened fire about 10:36 p.m., striking the man multiple times. The offender then fled on foot.
The delivery man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
40-year-old man shot in Garfield Park during robbery
About 12:20 a.m., a 40-year-old man was walking through an alley in the 3000 block of West Walnut Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood when he heard someone announce a robbery behind him.
The man took off running but soon realized he was shot in the leg. He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where his condition was stabilized.

22-year-old man shot in Lawndale
About 6:21 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot on the 1500 block of South Kedvale Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood.
The victim suffered a wound to his thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized
