14-year-old girl shot in ChathamA 14-year-old girl was shot in in the Chatham neighborhood in the 7900 block of South Vernon Avenue about 4:56 p.m.
The girl was shot in the left leg and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where her condition had stabilized. .
The girl was walking with family members to a bus stop to go home from her grandparents' house when the shooting took place. A group of young men or boys with hooded sweatshirts came walking toward the family, and when the group had passed the girl's family, one of them yelled "blow, blow" and someone started shooting.
The family ran, and escaped into a nearby building when someone at the building helped them inside. Once inside, the girl collapsed.
27-year-old man shot in Humboldt ParkA 27-year-old man was critically wounded in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. The man was standing outside in the 1100 block of North Keystone Avenue when a newer model Toyota or Hyundai pulled up and a passenger got out and opened fire.
He was shot in both arms, once in the face, three times in the abdomen and once in the buttocks.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition after the 1:40 p.m. shooting
21-year-old man shot In West TownA 21-year-old was shot about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Damen Avenue and Chicago Avenue in the West Town neighborhood. He was inside a van when someone pulled alongside in a small car and opened fire. He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and is in stable condition
40-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy shot in AustinA 40-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy were shot in the 100 block of South Lavergne Street in the Austin neighborhood about 11:15 p.m. Friday. The woman was walking past a group of young men, into an apartment, when the shooting stated. She was hit in the leg and taken to Loretto Hospital in good condition. The 17-year-old boy showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park with a graze wound to his groin a short time later. Both are in good condition
