A 28-year-old man fatally shot his wife and their 5-year-old daughter in his wife's Little Village apartment before turning the gun on himself early this morning.
The shooter, who did not live with his wife or daughter, survived the gunshot
wound and remained in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
At about 12:15 a.m., police responded to a call of three people shot in the 2800
block of South Kildare Avenue.
The woman and her daughter died on the scene. Kelly Mariel Coca and Karla Valeria Eguez, respectively.
The shooter was Eguez's father,
who was married to Coca but did not live in Chicago. He was listed in critical
condition at Mount Sinai this morning with a gunshot wound to the head.
