A 19-year-old woman fought off an attacker who tried to drag her into an alley this morning in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The woman was walking about 7:40 a.m. in the 2700 block of North Lamon Avenue when the man ran up from behind and grabbed her arm
The man told her to come with him and began pulling her toward a nearby alley, but the woman screamed and was able to fight off the attacker, who fled.
The community alert describes the attacker as a white Hispanic man, about 20-25 and 5-foot-8, with a slim build, medium complexion and slight facial hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, white gym shoes and long gray basketball-style shorts with a white stripe on each side.
