The 18-year-old suspect in a double homicide that left a 5-year-old boy and his 31-year-old mom dead was found bleeding from at least four gunshot wounds Friday night on the West Side.
The man shot Friday night is in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital. Someone walked up on him in the 2800 block of West Arthington Street in the Lawndale neighborhood about 9:10 p.m. and shot him in the buttocks, neck, leg and groin.
Police suspect the man in a Friday-morning shooting inside an apartment in the 5300 block of South Winchester Street in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. Less than 20 hours passed between the two shootings.
Three Chicago Police department sources confirmed the man’s identity as the sole suspect. Police don’t have anyone in custody in the 18-year-old’s shooting. They found him alone with nobody around to provide details about what may have happened.
The man is in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital. Sources said the man hasn’t waken up yet. Police initially identified using a tattoo and confirmed his identity when he got out of surgery by taking his fingerprints
