The great-nephew of a prominent Englewood community activist was fatally shot as he was driving from his great-grandmother's home this afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood.
Ronald A. Baskin, 21, of Lansing was leaving his great-grandmother's house on the 6500 block of S. Morgan, and headed to his uncle's home on the 6400 block of S. Green when he was shot.
The shooting happened on the 6500 block of South Green Street at about 4 p.m.
Baskin, a well-known activist in the Englewood community, said his nephew appeared to have been shot in the neck.
