Chicago police issued a community alert today advising people on the Near West Side to be aware of a group of males conducting robberies that had taken place over the weekend.
Both robberies happened on Jan. 12, when the victims were approached by four males who took their property by force.
The first incident happened on the 2200 block of West Monroe Street at about 3:30 p.m.. The second incident happened several hours later at 7:10 p.m. on the 400 block of South Racine Avenue.
While police said the descriptions of the offenders vary, they were generally described as four black males between the ages of 16 and 20 years of age. They were also between 5 feet 4 inches and 6 feet tall and between 150 and 175 pounds. Police said one of the men had hazel eyes and dreadlocks
