Authorities charged the South Side man they said wounded a young girl and
woman over the weekend during a shooting that was witnessed by a Chicago police
officer who had just ended his shift.
The officer, still in uniform,
pursued the vehicle from the 9900 block of South Vincennes Avenue to the 9800
block of South Throop Street just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday where one of two men
fired on him.
The unidentified officer returned fire, but no one was wounded in the
exchange.
Police said they arrested one of the men, Markiese McKinney, 20, of the 7600
block of South Eggleston Avenue, and charged with a single count of attempted
first-degree murder of a police officer.
At the gas station, a 13-year-old girl and a 44-year-old woman were both
wounded inside of a car. The wounded woman drove them to 103rd and Halsted
Streets, where an ambulance took them to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak
Lawn.

Just another Chimpanzee with a gun....
I can't understand when this generation got so bad. In my day, people of all ages had respect for EVERYONE , especially the police. People never had to lock the doors, kids could stay alone . It's a scary world to live in when you have to be afraid .
2012 The last days.Kids don't respect their parents.Everything is about sex.Music and media got this generation really messed up.Homosexuality is excepted everywhere.Drugs are the must thing.God has been removed from our lives in every way and form.I don't like or support guns. But it made be get a Foid card .So I can protect me and my family.Gun violence is out of control. But ill be dam if someone breaks in my house while I'm home. There leaving in a body bag.
Liberalism......
Lol......are you serious???? God makes people ever more stupid. These so called parents lay around on their lazy asses looking for "God" to bless them and protect their kids. Then they blame "God" when their child is gunned down they justify it by saying there was nothing they could have done and it was in god's hands. It's all bullshit. God can't protect you and your childern. Even if he was real why the fuck would he be doing your job.
I so feel sorry for your soul. You are as lost as the gang bangers .No God equals your soul in hell .Ain't trying to start a religious debate.Just trying to open your eyes to the bigger picture. But luck anyways in your no god theory.
So sorry your parents layed around. And didn't teach or take you to church. It's not your fault its your lazy parents I guess.I in the other hand work hard to teach my kids values. And thank God they be come beautiful human beings. With morals and values.
when was chicago ever safe
it was way more dangerous in the 90s
Um I go to church every Sunday (pastor hannah UIC), I'm college educated (may whole family went to private colleges) and I live in Hyde park (I don't have to deal with violent neighborhoods). And I'm a black female.
The thing is the smarter people get the less likely they are to believe in God meaning you childerns, childerns, childern will less likely believe in God. It,s not a theory, it's a fact.
And also, you don't have to feel sorry for my soul considering the fact that I'm a pretty decent person. If there is a god Im getting into heaven regardless. If he can forgive rapist he can forgive someone for using common since.
People get robbed and rapped in Hyde park too.Where ever you have a high presence of blacks there is crime so who you fooling.Hyde park west of you is murder town. You don't have to deal with crime in Hyde park,no BIATCH you just one lucky black women .Surrounded by blacks sooner or later crime will hit your family whether its immediate or not.You might live in Hyde park but how about your monkey cousins and uncles living in Engelwood. You talk like you have a magic bubble protecting you. When the percentage is against you as soon as you where born black.Go preach some where else We live in murder capital wise up anyone can get it at anytime in Chicago.Houses getting home invaded in lake forest,Frankfort,Downers grove. You ain't untouchable cause you live in Hyde Park.
People was getting money back then.Ya crime was bad in 90s .Gangbanging was the highest reason. Now its all about money its getting harder for these gangs to make a dollar .Everyone getting busted by the feds.We got more feds here now than any other city in the U.S. You see the results .Just wait till the holiday season comes around its about to get crazy out here.We ain't seen nothing yet.
Chicago Police first responded to the armed robbery in the 9000 block of South Ada Street about 3:50 p.m. and broadcast a description of the suspects’ vehicle, according to police News Affairs.
Officers spotted the vehicle, sparking a chase that went through south suburban Harvey before the suspects crashed near 144th and Halsted streets in Riverdale, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
Four men jumped out of the vehicle, two of whom were caught, Gaines said.
Dolton police took the men into custody, and are also investigating whether the suspects and the vehicle was connected with a murder in the south suburb earlier this week, Gaines said.
Derrick Hampton, 52, of Dolton, was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Hammond, Ind., after being shot in the 1000 block of Blouin Drive in Dolton, according to officials with the Lake County, Indiana Coroner’s office.
At one point, Wednesday’s chase came close enough to Metra’s Electric Line tracks, forcing operators to halt trains in the area, authorities said.
Train service was stopped between the Ivanhoe station in Riverdale and the 147th Street station in Harvey for roughly an hour starting at 5:15 p.m. as police responded, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said. Riders were on the move again Wednesday night.
Authorities description of the two remaining suspects are two dark chocolate gorillas about 5"10 and 4'9 the other resembles a baboom who remained on the loose.
I am though. Lived here all my life. Never had a problem. Oh and I don't associate with my "monkey" cousins. Why would I wanna be around poor people?
Wow your fucked in the head.Really need a reality check.
