A 49-year-old man was shot and killed in the East Garfield Park on the West Side.
Few details were available, but the man was shot while on
the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street at about 5:30 p.m..
Early reports stated that the gunman approached the victim on the street
and shot him at least twice before fleeing on foot.
The man was wounded
in the abdomen and had been taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in critical
condition, but he was pronounced there soon after arrival
The man was identified as Howard Hill, of the 7200 block of South Sangamon
Street in the city's Englewood neighborhood
