Man attacks 2 women in Lakeview

A man broke into a Lakeview residence early today and tried to sexually assault one of two women inside before fleeing with some of their property.
About 5 a.m. the two women, age 24 and 25, were asleep in their residence in the 800 block of West Newport Avenue when the attacker broke in.
When the man tried to sexually assault the 25-year-old victim, the noise awoke the second woman -- which caused the attacker to flee after taking miscellaneous property.
The alert describes the attacker as a black man 25-35 years old, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, and 180-200 pounds, with black, close-cropped hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved dark-colored T-shirt and jeans.
