A woman was rushed to a suburban hospital late Sunday after falling from the
platform of a Far North Side 'L' station on to the tracks.
The woman made contact with the electrified third rail during the
fall at Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line Howard station in the 7500 block of
North Paulina Street in Rogers Park, but was conscious and breathing as she left
the scene.
The woman was taken to nearby St. Francis
Hospital in Evanston for treatment. Her condition wasn't immediately
available.
The woman of an unknown age fell on the northbound tracks just
before 10:30 p.m.,
