Tevin Louis, 19, of the 500 block of West
Winneconna Parkway, the same block where Marquise Sampson was shot to death by
police early Sunday, was ordered held on $1 million bail in a court hearing
today. He was charged with Sampson's killing because prosecutors say Sampson's
death took place as a result of a robbery they claim Louis carried out.

I suppose then, since you hate white people so much, that means you hate our money as well - most of the welfare - food stamps, housing, low rent - we (white and others) pay for. Anybody who celebrates or applauds the death of a young man for any reason should be deeply ashamed of themselves. What Marquise did was wrong, but being happy about a young man's death is much worse. Marquise, like far too many other young black men, was desperate, depressed, hopeless, poor and searching for a way to help himself and his family. I knew Marquise. I was his teacher. I wept for Marquise tonight when I found out about this. Those who have no compassion for him do not understand what it was like to walk in his shoes. They are ignorant people who don't have a clue, and they should be humiliated and disgusted about their horrible words. Karma will not be kind to you. I am a white man, and I can only assume that white people are the ones saying these nasty, vile comments. I am deeply upset and distraught about what these men and/or women are saying. Please know that not all white people feel this way about life, death and struggle in black communities. My heart and prayers go out to all of Marquise's friends and relatives. The officer gave Sampson every opportunity to drop his weapon which Sampson refused and turned and began running towards the officer with the gun in his hand pointed directly at the officer leaving the officer with no other choice but to fire his weapon.
