Amtrak train hits person on tracks in Old Irving Park neighborhood

A  person on an overpass was struck by an Amtrak train and thrown to the street below in the Old Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side this evening.
At 8:53 p.m., Amtrak Hiawatha Train No. 342 bound for Chicago from Milwaukee, Wisc. struck a person who was on the tracks on an overpass near the 3800 block of North Kilbourn Avenue.
The impact caused the person to be throw onto the road below

This is messed up My father was a great man and did not deserve to go out like this he will be missed but never forgotten I LOVE YOU DAD

Mike sorry for your loss I was there and he was treated with dignity and respect. They blocked him from being seen. I stayed there until the ambulance took him. He was looking for your sister. The homeless people up there had spoke with him right before it happened. May he rest in peace.
