37 youths arrested at South Side park as part of Chicago Police "Flash Mob/Wilding" reverse sting

Chicago Police conducted a reverse sting in a South Side park yesterday, code name "Operation keep ghetto wilders in the ghetto" According to Police, the reverse sting was set up in an effort to stop the 'wilding" incidents that have been occurring in Chicago's Downtown, lakefront beaches, and on Chicago's buses and trains. According to a Chicago Police Sergeant in charge of the sting (who we will not identify due to the nature of his work), the reverse sting got under way at about 2 p.m. when an undercover Police Officer pretending to be blind and in a wheelchair, holding a laptop computer and being led by a guide dog, began to roll through the South Side park. Almost immediately the wheelchair bound Officer was set upon by five youths who flip him out of his wheelchair and attempted to flee with his chair, laptop and guide dog. Other undercover Officers, who were pretending to be park employees and bums immediately came to the Officer's aid, arresting all five offenders.

Police reported that the sting was ended after 30 minutes when the 4th District Police station ran out of cell space to house the numerous offenders that were arrest during the reverse sting.

Authorities reported, that there were no offenders injured during the sting, although Police dog chuck reported soreness and hair lost due to the numerous offenders picking him up and attempting to run off with him.
