Woman shot dead in Chatham UPDATED

A woman died after being shot about 1:30 a.m. on the 7600 block of South State Street in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side. She was in a van when someone approached and started shooting. The van's driver fled the scene and drove the 25-year-old woman to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified her as Tiffany Edwards, of the 8600 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
