Police say a toddler home alone fell from a second-story window of his Chicago
Lawn house on the Southwest Side, suffering a cut to his head.
The
child's mother, Vernisha Carter, 22, was charged with endangering the life of a
child and reckless conduct.
A neighbor discovered the
2-year-old boy on the ground outside his home in the 6100 block of South
Artesian Avenue about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday. The boy's mother had left
the boy alone and he tumbled out of an open window.
The boy suffered an abrasian to the head and was
taken to the University
of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital
