Police issue alert after attacker slashes man's throat in Lakeview

Police have issued alert after a man walking his dog was attacked and his throat slashed in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side.
The man told police he was attacked around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of West Byron.
The attacker walked past the victim, grabbed him from behind and cut him on the throat with a knife, the alert said. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The suspect fled on foot.
