Despite skepticism that’s been voiced by police Supt. Garry McCarthy, the Chicago Police Department announced plans Tuesday for its first-ever partnership with the CeaseFire group.
CeaseFire will get $1 million through the city’s Department of Public Health to target crime in two Chicago police districts under a pilot program, to begin July 13.
The money will put 20 additional CeaseFire workers in each of those two districts
Oh, and by the way CeaseFire has a NO SNITCHING policy, you know the same policy the city and the Police Department rail against as being a reason why violence continues in these communities,
* CeaseFire has balked at some of the department’s demands, including requiring CeaseFire workers who learn of brewing violence to notify the Chicago Police Department
* “We are not going to be informants or snitches for nobody,” the head of CeaseFire Illinois Hardiman said when asked about it Tuesday

I worked for Ceasefire for a few years. I was very committed to stopping violence, sometimes 60 hours a week. The problem is, you cant tell, snitch, because we have families living in the community, and they can get killed. The only problem I have is their hiring process. They often hire guys, who are ex gang chiefs at a time when they are losing their influence. I believe any activities coach can do just as good a job, by creating sports programs. I worked 3 districts. Id rather be called coach than Ceasefire.
Cease Fire all da old farts...Cease fire tho its great in our nieghbor hood..cops hate it all the gangbangers gather up nd clean the comminty nd 50 is fuck it up...L.K.W
the new young bangers are all independents. rebel renegades. Theres no chiefs to corral them anymore. They only respect money. Nothing else matters to them. Not LIFE, Family or anything else.
They have a complete Scarface mentality.
Ceasefire wont work.
