Man charged in South Side home invasion, robbery

A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with a South Side home invasion where a vehicle was taken from the scene.
Richard Pegue of the 2700 block of South Champlain Avenue was charged with home invasion by a person armed with a firearm, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and robbery by a pesson armed with a firearm.
On Saturday shortly after 4 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on the 6300 block of South King Drive and discovered it was the same vehicle taken in a home invasion on Friday.
On Friday, police said Pegue entered a residence on the 2800 block of South King Drive and beat a victim before stealing a television and the vehicle.
Police said he was driving the vehicle when they pulled it over.
Pegue is being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail
