23-year-old man shot in the Wicker Park neighborhood

At about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, a 23-year-old man was shot on the 1200 block of North Wolcott Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. He was walking with friends when someone walked up and started shooting, hitting the man once in the face and four more times in the body, police said. He's in critical condition at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, but was awake and talking when police responded to the scene. The shooting is gang related.
